FISH & BIOMASS

Infofish has processed hundreds of side-looking surveys in the past four years using BioSonics standard exports. Providing there is bathymetric data available in the survey area combined with our machine learning we can generate numeric and GIS outputs from side-looking BioSonics units even in shallow water environments.

BATHYMETRY & VOLUMETRIC

Infofish can process a range of bathymetric data, including data from different sources such as Humminbird, Garmin, Lowrance or Simrad but also data from scientific ecosounders (BioSonics) or other units provided there is an ability to access the data in csv or gpx formats. Outputs are available for most units and GIS Mapping tools, including for online services such as mapbox.

BATHYMETRY TIDAL

Bathymetric surveys in tidal environments are challenging to conduct and take planning. Longer surveys that are conducted across multiple tidal periods can be challenging to calculate. Infofish can do the tidal processing including advising on how to improve calculations through survey design or collecting additional data.

HABITAT & HAZARDS

Habitat classification includes coding individual habitat elements (such as trees or other objects). The gps co-ordinates of each element can be output in a range of formats including; as waypoints for fish finding units, as GIS shapefiles or as raw data files for further assessment. Alternatively, habitat elements (aquatic vegetation, algal blooms, etc.) can be coded as regions (polygons) and provided as shapefiles for GIS or as datafiles including co-ordinates.

IMAGERY/VIDEO

Infofish has developed a post-survey processing system to link up on-water photography, sidescan imagery, bathymetry modelling and vessel position into a single co-ordinated video that provides a complete overview of the environment as the vessel moves through survey.

We have machine learning models for assessing BioSonics data in a range of habitats including rocky, heavy wood and shallow water.

RESEARCH CENTER

If we don’t have a model for the habitat encountered we will build one from scratch that helps paint an accurate picture of fish biomass.
